Golf is one of the Pee Dee's predominant recreational activities.  Golfers appreciate the extended playing season that is possible because of the mild climate as well as the variety of excellent courses in the Florence area.  Golfers will find challenging play and affordable golf while traveling I-95 heading north or south, Florence is a great mid-way stop.

Cheraw CC
CCC offers an 18 hole, Par 72 course designed by Donald Ross in 1924, which is open year round to the public. Located in the Sand hills of SC just an hour south of Pinehurst. Cheraw Country Club provides golfers an opportunity to enjoy a leisurely round of golf and with our wonderful southern climate nearly every day of the year.

Cheraw State Park Course
This 18-hole championship course winds its way through the long-leaf pinelands of Cheraw State Park, its layout so broad that no two fairways are adjacent. Lake Juniper serves as a backdrop on several holes, making a golf trip to Cheraw State Park a visual treat. The course has a national certification from the Aubudon Society. A must play course visiting the Pee Dee area.

Darlington Country Club
One of the most challenging 6,300 yard courses in the Pee Dee. Enjoy the southern atmosphere at the private club winding along Black Creek with the beautiful Darlington oaks highlight the picturesque scenery.  It all makes for an enjoyable round of golf.  Par is 72. Amenities include full service dining, bar and practice facility.

Dusty Hills Country Club
Dusty Hills Country Club is an exciting 18 hole semi-private facility featuring new champion ultra dwarf greens. Located in Marion, SC, this layout features relatively narrow fairways, well bunkered greens and water hazards which comes into play on nine of the 18 holes. Pineland Golf Club
The 18-hole "Pineland" course at the Pineland Country Club facility in Nichols, South Carolina features 6,678 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 71.2 and it has a slope rating of 126.  Designed by Gene Hamm, the Pineland golf course opened in 1971.

The Links at Lakewood GC
The Links at Lakewood is located just south of Sumter off Hwy 15. It is a links style course featuring the signature island green par 3 # 13. It also is just minutes off I 95.

Sandy Point Golf Club
This J.B Ammons design features rolling fairways and bent grass greens making this course good for both beginners and advanced players. This hilly layout course has narrow fairways, so shot accuracy is essential. The signature hole is #9, a 523-yard, par 5, considered by locals to be the biggest challenge on the course. Two large ponds overlooking the clubhouse provide a scenic view of the 9th and 18th holes.

Wellman Club
Golf Digest's "Places to Play" guide The Wellman Club is one of best kept secrets in South Carolina. The course is a hidden gem on the grounds of the Persimmon Fields community. Designed by Ellis Maples and Ed Seay, this 7,018-yard track features lush Bermuda fairways and well-trapped fast greens, with water on 9 holes. Over the past few years the course has been host to Nike Tour qualifier events and Big South conference championships.
