About Us

Ben Hunt, PGA Golf Professional since 1982, is the founder and CEO of Grand Strand Golf Association. Ben has been involved in the Myrtle Beach golf industry since 1987.

Since 1987 , his career included positions as the Head Golf Professional at Brick Landing Plantation and General Manager and Head Golf Professional at Meadowlands GC and Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club. He developed junior golf programs, promoted national golf tournaments and is considered one of the top teaching professionals in South Carolina. Under Ben's leadership, Brick Landing's Pro Shop was selected as one of the TOP 100 GOLF SHOPS IN AMERICA, (1990 Golf Digest). He was nominated for the 2001 and 2002 Carolina PGA Junior Golf Leader Award. 

Ben's daughter, Lauren, is the 2006 Carolinas Women's Match Play Champion, 2006 Cougar Classic Champion, her first collegiate win and the 2005 Carolinas Women's Amateur Champion. She has competed in 2 USGA Women's Amateur Championships. In January, Lauren finished T-4 in the Harder Hall Invitational in Sebring, FL. Currently she is ranked 66th nationally among the top women's amateurs. She leaded her golf team (University of North Carolina) to the 2006 NCAA National Championship and is ranked among the top collegiate players in the country.

Ben and his wife, Susan make their home in Little River, South Carolina.
